Web to SMS has several user-friendly features for sending SMS messages using your Internet browser. You can log on to Web to SMS wherever you have access to the Internet - at work, home, hotel, Internet café or WIFI hotspot. The following features are available with most Web to SMS solutions:
Phonebooks
Using the phonebook you can set up a database of names and mobile phone numbers to access and edit online. The database normally resides behind a highly secure firewall. Existing databases (e.g. in MS Excel) of mobile phone numbers and personalized messages can be uploaded to the groups created on your account.
Message history with status reports
Use your Message History to find out to whom, when and how many messages you have sent and what their current status is. You can also view what messages you have scheduled to send later.
Scheduling messages for a future date
With scheduled messaging you can set messages to go out from minutes into the future to days, to weeks and even years into the future.
Upload unique messages from file
This feature allows you to send an individual message to multiple people via a text file upload. Prior to sending you will need to create a Text (Tab delimited) File that contains each cellular number and the unique message.

Email to SMS
Email to SMS allows you to use your email client (MS Outlook, Gmail or any other email client) to send and receive SMS messages. Using an application such as NMS Adaptive's Desktop SMS each user is provided with a license. A GSM modem is required in the mail server and text message credits can be bulk-bought from companies, such as Kapow - who specialise in providing this service.
How it works
This is a great interface for people comfortable with using email. It also allows for multiple people to use the system - a powerful tool for office communication. Once registered follow the email setup steps and you are ready to send from your email client. Replies to an SMS can automatically be forwarded to an email address of your choice.
This feature allows you to extend SMS to your desktop. By using your email client to send SMS's you can easily communicate with one person or groups of people while using a familiar interface. This page allows you to enter in one or more email address that you will send from for Email to SMS.
As this is a 2way platform, responses to the SMS will be sent to the email account of your choice. When you respond to these reply emails they will automatically be converted back to an SMS and sent to the responder's phone.
HTTP to SMS
The EAPI (Electronic Application Programming Interface) allows your organization to SMS enable your own applications.
The EAPI can be used for tasks from automatic notification to message delivery status. The EAPI is based on simple HTTP requests. Data is by default returned to you in a pipe-delimited (|) format, and you can generally submit everything you need to as simple query parameters.
