Technology Performance Coaching
After many years of research and review we have finally launched our long-awaited technology performance coaching programme which helps companies identify key areas of their business technology that is or should be generating profit. Click here to learn more. |
Do you treat technology like a member of staff
As an owner or manager of a business when did you last carry out an appraisal of the technology used?
Spare a thought to this notion; if so much investment is made on technology systems by which to carry out our respective trades, what controls are put in place to ensure the continuous performance of this equipment. What gauge is used to report to management and shareholders that the investment is working properly and to the manufacturers intended guidelines.
How would your technology systems fare if they were appraised as members of staff?
-
What was the financial performance of technology last year and what revenue can be attributed to it.
-
How well does technology work as part of a team i.e. how well does it integrate with other systems.
-
How many days off sick? How many failures, maintenance and support issues.
-
Does the technology work well with other members of staff i.e. how effective was the training, how easy is the technology to understand and how well does the technology integrate with business processes.
We become so engrossed in the human element of the organisation, especially when business leaders advocate that the business is its people, but we all know, if performance is not up to scratch we will be presented with our own P45, can the same be said about technology, it's about time to shape up or ship out!

Golden Goose or Silver Bullet
I recently read a startling statistic; the average person is subjected to approximate 3,000 advertising impressions everyday! So it’s not surprising that with so many new products presented to businesses on a daily basis, determining why you should give head space to any of them at all is not surprising. We have our own “take” on this environment! Click here to read more. |
Business SMS
How many text messages do you receive every day. When you do, the message is normally read immediately! SMS messaging has become a standard form of communication; however some businesses have been able to take this technology to a different level.
-
Notifying individuals that a voicemail message has been left on an office voice system, thereby saving the cost of a mobile call to check a mailbox.
-
Estate Agents; informing potential purchasers and tenants of new property to rent or buy.
-
Recruitment; informing candidates of new jobs on the market
-
Insurance; promoting new premiums or products.
-
Restaurants promoting special offers.
-
Maintaining contact with field personnel.
-
Marketing directives in all their guises from competitions, promotions, new website notifications and PR messages.
The above are only a few of the uses, but it may be worth considering as an additional string to your bow regarding your marketing efforts. For pricing and set up costs, click here to find out more. |
Next month I will be focusing on telephone systems. Although most businesses seem to be plagued with telephone calls from sales companies, there have been a number of recent changes and new features now available that can have a significant impact on business process and profitability. It should be a good read.
If you would like me to cover any specific areas within the office environment, please let me know and I'll do my best to schedule it in for a future edition.
Bye for now
